Valentino Kanzyani

Valentino Kanzyani is one of the founders of the Slovenian techno scene, a producer with many successful releases, and a performer who has collaborated with numerous well-known international artists. Although he is called the “father” of Slovenian techno, that never really stops him from taking the audience on a ride through one of his house sets—or anything in between that he finds fresh at the moment. You can usually find Kanzyani performing at festivals such as Sunwaves, UNUM, and Mioritmic, as well as in clubs and special locations around the world.

He founded the label “Jesus Loved You” in 2005, at the same time he changed his musical style. He has released numerous singles, EPs, and albums. He is a highly sought-after remixer and has remixed tracks by artists such as Carl Cox, Ken Ishii, Simon Digby, Vinyl Speed Adjust, and Mark Ambrose. He is also known for his brand “UNEXPECTED”, which he launched at ADE through the concept of an intimate boat party with special guests.

A celebrated DJ above all, Valentino built a solid reputation for himself while being a resident at Ambasada Gavioli—Slovenia’s most famous electronic music club. His fame grew when he began spinning on three turntables as a standard.

Joining forces with fellow countryman and techno champion Umek, Valentino saw his first release in 1999 under the alias Recycled Loops. Due to the success of their joint EPs, Valentino Kanzyani and Umek established Recycled Loops as a record label, which further helped solidify Valentino as a key player on the Eastern European techno scene. This was followed by numerous world tours, festival performances, and major club gigs.

His DJ sets today combine infectious sounds with hypnotic melodies and have been conquering numerous clubs and festivals around the world for nearly three decades—from South America to Ibiza.
