Cockney Rejects

Cockney Rejects are an English punk band formed in 1978 in East London. The band was founded by brothers Jeff Turner (vocals) and Micky Geggus (guitar), together with bassist Vince Riordan and drummer Andy Scott. Cockney Rejects became one of the key bands of the British Oi! punk scene, a movement that emerged in the late 1970s, combining the energy of punk with working-class culture and football terrace atmosphere.
Their debut album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, featured a series of raw and energetic songs that quickly gained cult status among punk fans. Subsequent releases, such as Greatest Hits Vol. 2 and The Power and the Glory, further cemented their reputation as one of the most influential representatives of the Oi! movement.
The band is also well known for its strong connection with the London football club West Ham United F.C., of which the members are devoted supporters, often referencing football culture in their songs. Their music is characterized by simple yet powerful riffs, direct lyrics, and an energy that captures the spirit of the British street punk scene.
Although they have had periods of inactivity throughout their career, Cockney Rejects have remained active and continue to perform around the world. Today, they are regarded as one of the most important bands of the Oi! and street punk genres, with a lasting influence on generations of punk musicians and fans.
