Rambo Amadeus

Rambo Amadeus, the stage name of Antonije Pušić, is a legendary Montenegrin musician, composer, poet, and satirist who defies definition and categorization. A true pioneer of alternative and socially engaged music in the Balkans, Rambo blends rock, jazz, funk, hip-hop, and electronic elements with biting humor, sharp political commentary, and absurdist performance art to create a unique and unmistakable style he famously dubbed “turbo folk satire”.

Born in 1963 in Kotor, Montenegro, Rambo Amadeus emerged in the late 1980s as a musical provocateur and cultural iconoclast. His early albums like “O tugo jesenja” (1988) and “Hoćemo gusle” (1989) shook up the scene with their raw sound, eccentric lyrics, and fearless critique of social and political norms. With razor-sharp wit and unapologetic originality, Rambo quickly became one of the most charismatic figures in the Yugoslav and later post-Yugoslav music scene.

Throughout his extensive career, he has released numerous acclaimed albums, including:

  • “Psihološko propagandni komplet M-91”
  • “Don’t Happy, Be Worry”
  • “Muzika za decu”
  • “Hipishizik Metafizik”
  • “Brodić”

Rambo is not just a musician—he is a performer, philosopher, and provocateur. His concerts are known for their unpredictability, theatricality, and direct engagement with the audience. Whether he’s jamming with a full band or riffing on a synthesizer while reciting improvised poetry, Rambo delivers a live experience that is humorous, intelligent, and deeply original.

Beyond music, Rambo Amadeus has also been active in theater, film, and environmental advocacy. He even represented Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 with the song “Euro Neuro”, delivering a performance that baffled, amused, and challenged European audiences.

In a time of polished pop and digital sameness, Rambo Amadeus remains a beacon of authenticity, irony, and subversive brilliance. Expect the unexpected when he takes the stage at Arsenal Fest—this is more than a concert, it’s a happening.
