Texas won’t perform at Arsenal, due to the singer’s health issue
Scottish band Texas announced today that due to the current health condition of the singer, Sharleen Spiteri they will not perform on June 22 at Arsenal Fest 08 in Kragujevac. Instead of them, at the Arsenal’s Main Stage, in the scheduled time 23:15, the retro-pop band Jinx will perform.
In a public announcement on its Facebook page this morning, Texas states:
Unfortunately, we are really sorry to announce that due to the ongoing issues relating to Sharleen’s health, our gigs in Serbia and Macedonia this week have had to be cancelled. Sharleen has been instructed to have 10 days of rest.
The band has announced on its Facebook that the concert will be held on 29th September in Hala sportova, Belgrade.
IMPORTANT! Anyone who has bought a single ticket for Arsenal Fest 08 for June 22, can return it at the point of sale where they have bought it. Since it is a festival ticket, it will not be valid for the new Texas concert in Belgrade, which will not be organized by Arsenal Fest.
In early June, Spiteri was suddenly hospitalized for medical reasons („Sharleen has blown three discs in her back …“) and then Texas canceled the scheduled performances in Norway and Sweden.
Although at first it seemed that the singer recovered, and the band held concerts in Lyon on June 15 and Niem on June 17, it was finally decided that Spiteri is not ready to continue touring at the moment.
At the time that was planned for the performance of Jinx at Arsenal’s Garden Stage on June 22, the band Nipplepeople will play – from 2:00. After them, Del Arno band will perform from 3:15 pm.
