Nouvelle Vague

Nouvelle Vague ENG

On the second day of the festival, Nouvelle Vague will be performing on the Main Stage!

ABOUT THE PERFORMER

The band was formed in France in 2003. Their name is a tribute to both the 1970s and 1980s music scene and a local 1960s cinema.

During music video shoots and live concerts, session vocalists performed the songs. At various times, these included: Camilla, Nadeah Miranda, Melanie Paxson, and Phoebe Killdeer.2004 was a significant year for the music group as they released their debut album, “Nouvelle Vague”.

Eight people were involved in the creation and recording of this album. The performance of the compositions was entrusted to singers who, up until that point, had never heard the songs they were performing.

Camila and Eloisia participated in four tracks, while Melanie contributed to the recording of two. The disc featured updated versions of songs by artists like Modern English, XTC, and The Cure.

The next album, “Bande à Part”, was released the same year. The album features covers of the songs “Ever Fallen in Love” by Buzzcocks, “Blue Monday” by New Order, and “The Killing Moon” by Echo & the Bunnymen. In 2009, the band released their next album, “Live Au Caprices Festival”.

Following that, the band members decided to put out another record featuring remakes of French songs. Subsequently, they released the following albums: “Couleurs sur Paris” (2010), “Athol-Brose” EP (2016), “I Could Be Happy” (2016), “Algo Familiar” EP (2017), and “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” (2024).
